WREG-TV Memphis - 1999 Nissan Maxima
On challenging roads the Maxima SE is fun and extremely capable. It will give most luxury cars a dash for their cash in the mountains. Handling is quick, with fast, even turn-in and a lot of grip. Ultimately the Maxima plows in fast corners, but not until you're at the high end of its limits. If you want, however, you can get the car to drift in a neutral attitude by decelerating momentarily and shifting weight onto the front tires. Nothing bad or surprising happens, and the car just tucks in tighter.

This Nissan 2002 Maxima SE car is amazing inside-out. With a realistic price sticker, it provides much more than toyota, honda, and any domestic car for that matter. Performance is the key benefit. The Nissan 2002 Maxima SE is a great car at a good deal. But if this thing can't beat out a pontiac Grand Prix GTP, then it loses on both ends. Not enough luxury and not enough quickness. Remember, speed kills.

The Nissan Maxima SE 5-speed, a sports car for five.
This Maxima SE makes doing the twisties on Green Valley or Bass Lake a piece of cake. Manual control of the transmission gives one the feeling of being more a part of the process instead of just being along for the ride. It certainly makes the ride more enjoyable. Powering out of the corners feels more positive and connected.
